LES AND KAE MARTIN
TUITION ASSISTANCE BURSARY

Standing upon the belief that evidence-based interventions should be more accessible to those who need it most, New Haven welcomes the opportunity to partner with the Les and Kae Martin Foundation in offering additional tuition assistance for clients of New Haven Learning Centre. The key priority is to support those not able to financially support gaining access to medically necessary services in a centre of excellence in ABA autism treatment, education and life skills development in Ontario.

OVERVIEW

An incredibly generous investment of $160,000 for one full year of life-changing New Haven services will be distributed across eligible participants in both the children and adult programs.

In this pilot initiative, eligible families may be awarded financial support as their child joins the 2022/2023 service year in September.

Bursaries granted will be extended across one year of service based on a model of 12-month service contracts.

Bursary applicants may choose between 1:1 support or group-based programs

ELIGIBILITY

Children participating in our three to five day a week 1:1 ABA-based therapeutic and educational program over a full year service model may be eligible for a bursary of up to $15,000 for 1:1 service or group-based programs.

Adults participating two or more days a week of 1:1 therapeutic treatment and intensive supports or our life skills and pre-vocational training in a full year service model may be eligible for a bursary of up to $10,000 for 1:1 services or group-based programs.

Eligibility is determined by existing government support guidelines and the total amount of government funding already provided to families (e.g. Passport or OAP). Please refer to the Application for further details.

Tuition fees will be paid as a weighed contribution from clients, government support and the Les and Kae Martin Foundation, with a higher emphasis on families who personally pay 50% or more of the total tuition costs.

A committee has been established to share in determining the distribution of grants inclusive of school personnel, a Trustee designate of the Les and Kae Martin Foundation and community members.

application process

The Les and Kae Martin Tuition Assistance Bursary will launch in September 2022 with contributions distributed across 12 months of tuition payments.

Funding applications will be accepted to August 16, 2022.

As much as the Les and Kae Martin Foundation and New Haven Learning Centre wish to support all those who seek financial assistance for enrollment, eligibility does not guarantee that families will receive a Tuition Assistance Bursary. Eligible applications will be assessed on a needs-basis, intake and program availability, and an in-depth assessment of valued contribution by the committee.

Applicants will need to provide proof of income with their application. Families are only eligible to apply for one bursary per calendar year.

Applicants are acknowledging consent for evaluation and review of financial documents. These files will be destroyed if the applicant is unsuccessful, and kept on file for those awarded a Tuition Assistance Bursary. Privacy and confidentiality is of the upmost priority to New Haven Learning Centre.
